Get Connected! Since 2001, WM Automotive has been evaluating computer systems as an alternative to our ADIS and JCONs. A decision was made this month to move forward with Activant. WM will invest in an upgrade for our warehouse system that will significantly extend our service capabilities. Besides additional speed for internal operations, we will implement some new communications features:
AconneX (ACX) will enable WM to communicate with JCONs and other jobber systems that use this technology. This is a high-speed replacement for what we now do with dial-up modems. It is also being licensed to 3rd-party system vendors like Autologue. Many popular shop management systems also have adopted ACX so their customers can order directly from their ACX-equipped suppliers.
PartsLink is a web-based e-catalogue, interchange, and stock-order entry system. It is available to any ADIS or JCON which uses AconneX. This means WM will be able to offer 24/7 electronic order placement to jobbers that do not currently order via computer. Many JCON jobbers will also be able to offer that to their customers if they add the capability to their late-model JCON system.

May In-Store Sale is next up, with flyers due to you first week of May. Featured items will include Exide, Performance Tool specials, Parts plus oil & Carb cleaner.
June Savings 500 Sale is will start on June 4, which is a Friday. If you need changes to your store SIG panel - hours, message etc - please let us know ASAP. Distribution changes should be made now also.
Running local advertising? You can have your advertising company or newspaper email ad copy and details to rex@wmautomotive.com. I will check for (or supply) correct logos and offer suggestions to make your ad work better, as well as make sure it meets requirements for reimbursement.
Race FAQ -Is there going to be a Parts Plus Grand Prix of Texas this year? Yes there will be a race, but we will not sponsor it. It's at TMS May 1 & 2. Admission is a nominal $10 per day for full infield access.
MAP Warehouse Merchandise will be stocked at WM Fort Worth. Popular items like Oil Change stickers, paper seat covers, floor mats, SOAFs etc will be stocked like our other merchandise, and ordered through regular channels. Watch for a WM price list. Items not on the price list will still need to be ordered from Memphis.

Falcon Steering Systems is a full-line chassis parts supplier. Their product is OE quality and better, using intelligent design upgrades to exceed OE standards. Falcon redesigns wear better and feel tighter than OE. Parts are hardened and heat-treated beyond OE standards, phosphate coated, then poly-bagged with a small parts kit. Package design is modern and attractive.
WM will stock Falcon as a running change in our XCC line. Part numbers are the familiar K-304, ES312Rl etc, no prefix or suffix. Check the WM jobber price sheet and you will see the primary advantage of this line. That we picked up a quality advantage is a bonus.

Injectronics Tech Training is the latest addition to Parts Plus University. Injectronics is a hands-on clinic, minimum 4 hours in length, with each technician working with system mockups and networked scan tools. This is top-rate training for experienced techs, novices need not apply.
WM Automotive will be sponsoring Injectronic training classes in Dallas & Fort Worth, and other locations as demand requires. The first course will cover GM Vortec Fuel Injection.

Ordering PBE stock using JCON Inquiry - Please use Option 10.5 and the correct vendor number for PBE orders so it will come out at the PBE warehouse. If you do not it prints at your regular WM DC, where it is voided and then re-keyed as a PBE order. Save us all some time and errors by punching it through on the correct vendor number.

Moog Update - Shipping is getting better, but still not up to full strength. All orders are still handled manually in a temporary facility. Automated equipment should be on line in mid-May. This will greatly improve fill rate. Under the circumstances, they are doing pretty well. WM continues to watch Moog inventory. The new Falcon line will back it up.
