It has come to our attention that there have been cases of a rubber material plugging piston cooling nozzles in the MBE4000 series engines. It is understood that Detroit Diesel Engine/Benz (DDE) have narrowed down the source of the material to a displaced O ring. The source of this O ring has been identified as a non-original equipment filter. As such, you may begin hearing loose talk from dealership and distributors about non-original equipment oil filters causing piston melting and engine failures in the MBE4000 series engines.
This situation does not involve any WIX product. The 57213 is not associated with this problem. Our 57213 does not use an O ring in the outlet end cap. The 57213 will perform precisely as needed providing excellent protection to the engine and will not in any way cause the type of piston cooling nozzle problem DDE has discovered.
We felt it important to give you a heads up and to make sure you knew that this is not a Wix problem nor are any Wix products involved in this. Should you encounter someone discussing this issue, you can, with all certainty inform them that this is not related to any Wix oil filter.
